St. Patrick's Day Style

Wednesday, March 18, 2015

Hello darlings! I hope everyone had a safe and fun-filled St. Patrick's Day! Usually I go out and celebrate with my friends, but this year there was so much going on I didn't have time to. I just celebrated from the comfort of my couch, which was totally fine with me. :-) So today's post is about my St. Patty's Day outfit. I have to be honest and say I really don't have a lot of green in my wardrobe, but I love these emerald pants! I'm pretty sure I've worn them for the past two years on St. Patrick's Day...guess you could say they're my go-to green. The white crochet top is one of my favorites as well. I adore crochet/lace tops, I just think they're so fun and feminine. I tend to wear a lot of lace in spring and summer. I was also SO happy that it was warm enough for me to break out my white ankle strap sandals! I love boots, but I've missed my sandals. And just to add a little sass to the outfit, I paired the crochet top, emerald skinny jeans, and white sandals with a gorgeous leopard clutch. What I especially love about the leopard clutch is that it is very versatile, as it comes with a detachable gold chain so you can use it as a crossbody or shoulder bag. You can also fit quite a bit inside! It has an inside zipper pocket and cell phone holder, and there's plenty of room to fit your travel size beauty necessities too! I've linked everything below...

All About That Leopard

Monday, March 9, 2015

Leopard print has always been one of my favorite patterns and I completely support the idea that it is a neutral, so naturally I was drawn to the Clare Vivier leopard clutch that most of the well-known fashion bloggers have been sporting lately. It's absolutely gorgeous, no doubt, but for those of us who are on a budget, spending $200+ on a clutch may not be realistic. For this reason, I wanted to devote a post to chic and affordable alternatives to the coveted Clare V. leopard clutch. Here are some of the options that I came across in my search, but keep in mind that not all of them are the fold over style (like the Clare V. clutch). Some are the flat style, but they're just as cute!

Liebster Award

Saturday, March 7, 2015

Happy Saturday! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

I just want to start out by saying how truly blessed I feel to be a part of such an amazing, encouraging, and supportive blogging community. The bloggers who I've gotten to know so far are all beautiful women, inside and out, and are seriously the sweetest people! Sure, we compliment each other's outfits and accessories and provide fashion/beauty inspiration, but more importantly, we are there to encourage and support each other through good times and bad. Blogging really is so much more than beauty and fashion. I'm looking forward to what the future holds and maybe one day I will actually get to meet some of you in person! :-)

Now that I'm finished with my little novel, I want to say a huge thank you to the sweet and stylish Brit from threaddiction for nominating me for the Liebster Award! You're probably wondering what the Liebster Award is. Basically, it is a way to support and get to know your fellow bloggers. It is an award that is given to NEW bloggers (must have under 1,000 followers). Once you are nominated, you answer the 11 questions that the blogger before you has chosen (or pick new ones/mix new and old), then you pick 11 NEW bloggers and you pass the love along. Simple enough!

So here are my 11 questions:

1. How did you get into blogging?
I had been following a few amazing blogs for over a year and realized I wanted to start instablogging in order to share fashion & beauty bargains and deals with others. I started instablogging a little over four months ago and just started my blog The Brunette Bargainista this month.

2. If you could have anyone's closet, whose would you want?
Blake Lively's! She always looks stunning. I just love her casual-chic look. I also love Lauren Conrad's classy, feminine style. A combination of both would be perfect!

3. Who's your celebrity crush?
Chris Hemsworth. He seems like a genuinely nice person, family man, and who can resist that adorable face and accent? ;-)

4. What is your favorite TV show?
At the moment, New Girl. It's so quirky and entertaining, plus I love Schmidt.

5. Silver or gold?
Gold, especially rose gold.

6. What is your favorite meal?
I love my mom's pumpkin/curry soup with portuguese rolls, yum!

7. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
My list is pretty long, but Disney World, Paris, London, Italy, Hawaii, Bahamas, Australia, and New Zealand.

8. What is one beauty product you can't live without?
L'Oreal Paris True Match foundation

9. What are your favorite fashion trends right now?
Pointed flats, envelope/leopard clutches, quilted vests, and Hunter boots.

10. What is your favorite way to relax and unwind?
A cup of coffee and Netflix!

11. Where are your favorite places to shop?
TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Old Navy, Target, Forever 21, J. Crew, and J. Crew Factory.

I nominate the following blogs:

Have fun, pretty ladies!

The Rocksbox Has Arrived!

Wednesday, March 4, 2015

Happy Hump Day, lovelies!

Today's post is all about Rocksbox. I'm sure that most of you have heard about Rocksbox by now, as it seems to be all over Facebook and Instagram. After seeing so many ladies posting pictures of their gorgeous Rocksbox jewelry on Instagram, I decided to try it out. Man, am I so glad I did! I just received my first Rocksbox in the mail yesterday and I was super impressed. First of all, it comes in an adorable box with "Rocksbox" printed on it and tied with a bow, and each piece of jewelry is carefully placed in bubble wrap and a tiny drawstring bag. Besides the cute packaging, I was most impressed by the quality of the jewelry.

For those of you who are not familiar with Rocksbox, it is a jewelry styling service that loans out designer jewelry at a flat monthly rate of $19. It is best described as Netflix for jewelry. Once you sign up and take the style survey (which helps your stylist get an idea of your individual style), your stylist will pick out three pieces of jewelry (worth $200!), and your Rocksbox will be sent right to your door. The best part is that you get to keep and wear the jewelry for as long as you want during your membership. And just like Netflix, when you're done with the jewelry, you just send it back (shipping is free both ways), and they will send you a new set of jewelry. You can swap out jewelry as often as you want. But what if you fall in love with a piece? Can you buy it? Yes you can! All you have to do is keep the piece(s) you want to buy when you send the rest back and they will charge you for the one(s) you kept. And what's even better is that you get a discounted price, plus Rocksbox gives you $10 in "Shine Spend" to apply to a purchase, which is replenished each month. Sounds great, doesn't it? I have a little surprise at the end of this post, so keep reading...I know, that's kind of cruel, isn't it? :-)

So now that I've explained what Rocksbox is, let's get to the goodies I got in my first Rocksbox!

Perry Street Charlotte Earrings
Let's start with these Perry Street Charlotte earrings. First of all, this picture does not do them justice. They have just the right amount of sparkle and are not too big or heavy. I'm actually not a huge earring person, but I thought these were beautiful and very versatile, as they can be worn to compliment a dress or add a pop of sparkle to a casual outfit.

Gorjana Pristine Circle Stud Earrings
Next are the Gorjana Pristine Circle stud earrings. These tiny circle studs are so adorable and the little diamonds definitely make them shine. Personally, these studs are a little too small for my taste, but it doesn't take away the fact that they are gorgeous.

SLATE Skyline Necklace

Of course I saved the best for last. Immediately, this SLATE Skyline necklace caught my eye. It's just so unique and I love the crystal detailing in the center. It's definitely a bold piece and not something I would normally wear, but this necklace has me hooked...I wore it today for my #outfitoftheday post and I honestly did not want to take it off. I might just have to keep this beauty!

Now for that surprise I made you wait for (sorrynotsorry).....

*drum roll*

I have been given a special code to share with my readers so that you can all get your first month of Rocksbox free! And really, who can pass up something that's free? Certainly not me, that's for sure... But the surprise doesn't end there. The same code can be used to get your second month 50% off. Not a bad deal, huh? Just enter in the code "brunettebargainistaxoxo" at checkout!

Alright ladies, hope you have a wonderful night! Sweet dreams!

Hello (Blog) World!

Monday, March 2, 2015

Hello everyone, and welcome to The Brunette Bargainista!

I am so excited to be writing my first post! I have been following some amazing blogs for the past two years and have been inspired to finally take the plunge and try blogging for myself. This is a whole new world to me, so please bear with me. :-)

I just want to take a quick moment and share a little bit about myself. My name is Brittany, I was born and raised in New York, and I just finished grad school not too long ago. I also have a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. The most important things in my life are my faith, family, friends, and fashion. As silly as it sounds, I was never really into fashion until I watched Gossip Girl. So, thank you Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen for inspiring me to dress better. ;-)

I'm slightly obsessed with pink, gold, glitter and sequins, and Disney World is my favorite place on earth, hands down. I am a huge foodie with a weakness for cookie dough and fries (obviously not together). I absolutely adore anything Kate Spade. And I've never traveled outside the U.S., except Canada (Niagara Falls), but I dream of one day going to Paris!

November 2014, Disney World // My happy place! <3
But to give you a sneak peek of what's to come in the blog...I'll be focusing on bargains that I find in regards to beauty, fashion, and decor, as well as posting information about good sales that I come across. There will be some "outfit of the day" posts, and the occasional posts about fitness and DIY projects. Basically, anything that I find interesting or relevant at the moment.

Well, that's about it for now...time to make some tea and get ready to watch "The Bachelor: Women Tell All". That's always entertaining. #PrinceFarming

Hope you all have a fabulous week and hopefully more posts will be up shortly!

xoxo, Britt
